Addison waved at his larger dog and released the blanket covering him. The labrador started to approach the bundle then. Addison felt comforted knowing his labrador would not be harmed by the bigger dog. The sight of the puppy exposed to the labrador by opening the covers appalled Addison. The mood in the car shifted drastically the instant the blanket slid away. What had seemed to be simple inquiry turned into something more basic. The Labrador's body language changed right away, its former softness replaced by a stiff awareness that transmitted warning signals throughout Addison's experienced brain. Too late, he realised he had totally misinterpreted the circumstances.
